Fun Fact Friday – Mammoth Cave National Park

Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky is the world’s longest known cave system. 365 miles of it have been explored.

Bonus: When I visited Mammoth Cave I learned the difference between a stalactite and a stalagmite. A stalactite “holds on tight to the ceiling.” A stalagmite “might grow to reach the ceiling.”
