The Story Behind the Picture – Great Urban Race, Washington, DC

A couple of years ago CJ and I participated in the Great Urban Race. It was a day long scavenger hunt in Washington D.C. benefiting Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospitals. We had to follow clues to various points around the city, complete tasks and then head to the next check in spot. It was like a mild version of the TV show The Amazing Race. We were not truly competing and were just having fun so as we were approaching the end of the race we got tired and decided to end early (we really aren’t big competitors in fun events like this one!). We just happened to be in Adams Morgan where the Travel Channel had filmed Food Wars and featured Jumbo Slice pizza. What better way to celebrate a fun day than eating a slice of pizza bigger than your head?!
