Kung Fu Corner, Hong Kong, China

A super great way we spent our last afternoon in Hong Kong was in Kowloon Park at Kung Fu Corner. In the Sculpture Garden area of the park on Sunday afternoons from 2:30-4:30 local groups perform Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Its totally free and although the park is pretty large, once you find the location there are seats so you can sit and enjoy the whole performance (although you may want to get there a little early if you want one of the seats – I chose to sit on the ground, which is perfectly acceptable too!). The performers are various groups that take turns completing their routines and cycle in and out with very little wait time. You will see the same performers over and over again, but they do mix up their routines so there’s no need to worry about getting bored. I had read on Trip Advisor that Kung Fu Corner was pretty lack luster, but given that I know nothing about Tai Chi and Kung Fu I LOVED it! I was so glad that I got to experience this beautiful art form!

At the very end of the performance they ask people from the audience to come up and participate – of course I jumped up 🙂 They were very helpful, and very hands on with the instruction!
